Things I'm Thankful For!

Hope everyone enjoyed a happy and safe Thanksgiving. I had a wonderful day with my family. I have a fairly large family ~ 2 brothers and 2 sisters and lots of nieces and nephews plus my parents too. We always have a blast when we all get together. We are very blessed and very fortunate. I thank the good Lord everyday for them and for the wonderful parents that we have that raised us in a loving Christian home.

It's hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. I've not been a very good blogger lately ~ just been too busy to get in here to post anything. I did manage to get a couple of pictures of the gorgeous trees and leaves in our area. This fall the foliage has been beautiful. We have some Bradford pear trees in our front yard that have turned awesome shades of red and orange. I got these pics about a week ago. Today after a lot of wind and rain most of the leaves have fallen off the trees.
You can see our little home in the background!

My husband and I have also just celebrated our 21st anniversary. Bless his heart he has put up with me and all my stuff for all these years. He's also my best friend! I scanned one of our wedding pictures and one that we made today. He still has a lot of facial hair but it's a lot more gray than black! I've learned the secret to hiding my gray hair! He is still just as sweet and charming now as he was then when he won my heart!

WOW!! What a difference 21 years makes!

There are so many things that I have to be thankful for not just at Thanksgiving but everyday. First and foremost is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has blessed me with my husband, children, family, friends, my health, a wonderful job and so much more. To Him be all the honor and glory! Blessings to you all!

Shopping is HARD work!

Well I spent the whole day yesterday shopping with some of my friends. I do mean the WHOLE day too. I got up at 4:30 in the morning and got ready and we met and drove 2 1/2 hours to some wonderful outlet shops in Georgia. Got in around midnight last night. I'm still trying to recover today. Just not as young as I used to be!(LOL) But we had a great time of shopping, laughing and fellowship. I found some beautiful red toile plates with Christmas trees on them. They will look great in my red kitchen for Christmas. Found some other neat things and good bargains. We were suppose to be Christmas shopping and I think I bought one Christmas gift. However, it did make me want to come home and put up my tree and all my decorations. Here is a pic of a few of my friends ~ Samantha, Tina and Lynn.
You can't see Vickie and and Lynne W. in the front. Thanks to Lynne W. for her driving and her big suburban. We managed to have it packed full by the end of the day.
Here is a picture of my Christmas plates and I love the apothecary jar filled with ornaments. Of course, I will have to change out the ornaments with some of my vintage pink ornaments!
Well, I've got it get moving or I will get nothing done today. Blessings to you all!

New Ebay items this week

WOW! I was actually able to get some painting done this week. I have had so many projects started but not completed. I was very thankful to have the time and inspiration to get some things finished. I hope you will check them out this week on ebay! This is a wonderful old Victorian coal hod scuttle that I picked up several years ago on the worlds longest yard sale. I had cleaned it up and painted it white but had not done anything else to it until just recently. I loved the way it turned out. I might just have to find a place for it and keep it!

I also have been painting a few Christmas items. Christmas is always a favorite time of year for decorating and I love painting these decorative items!

Great Day for Yard Sales!

This is another beautiful fall day here in Northeast Alabama. My husband and I got up and went to a few yards sales. Found some old windows with the original hardware. A lovely oval wood and gesso frame. This gorgeous old antique framed print. I bought the framed print from someone who was selling out her shop and she said she had bought it from an estate sale. It's a fabulous frame. I couldn't pass up the little Samsonite overnite case. It reminded me of the one my mom had when we were growing up. I used that thing a lot spending the night at friends' houses. The memories it brings back!

Here are a few of my ebay listings this week. I hope you will check them out and find something that you just can't live without!

Well today is college football!! My husband and I both love college football and you can't live in Alabama without declaring your loyalty to either Alabama or Auburn. They are the biggest rivalries in the state. My husband is an Alabama fan and I'm an Auburn fan so it always makes for an interesting day. However, today is Jacksonville State's Homecoming. My husband is an alumni from there and that is where he spends the majority of his time since he works there. So we are off to enjoy the game and homecoming activities! Blessings to you all!

Beautiful Fall Weather

My favorite time of the year is fall. After the hot summers in Alabama the cooler temps are a welcome change. One thing my husband and I like to do is go camping! I'm talking about sleeping in a tent "roughing it" type camping. We have a group of friends that we like to go with and we love to go to Lake Guntersville here in Northeast Alabama. Our friends went camping this past weekend but we weren't able to camp. But we did manage a quick trip up there. The lake and all around it is gorgeous. We've stayed at the state park and there are deer everywhere. Late afternoon they come in around the campground and feed. I'm a posting some pics of a few we saw this past weekend.

I FINALLY Did It!!

Yea! I finally took the time to sit down and try to figure this thing out. I love looking at all the gorgeous blogs and reading them. I've had this one for a while now but never posted anything. Southern Vintage Charm is me! I'm southern, some what vintage (40 something for a couple of more years!LOL) and well I try to be charming. I am a nurse by day and a decorative painter and collector in my spare time. I love anything Victorian, shabby and chic, primitive and French Country. Quite a combination. I have been buying and selling on eBay for a number of years. There you will find anything from my romantic pink fluffy roses to vintage collectibles. I collect Hull and McCoy pottery and have a few Fenton art glass pieces. I also love decorating with vintage bird cages and birdhouses. Thanks for taking the time to stop in and I hope you enjoy. I am putting a few pictures of some of my favorite things in my home. My husband and I have very different tastes in decorating but I do manage to have a few shabby and chic items.
